Spend 8 weeks immersed in web development at UNF!
At this time, Jax Code Academy has two Full-Stack Web Development Bootcamps scheduled for the remainder of 2019. Our bootcamps are currently being held at the University of North Florida (UNF). The duration of each course is eight weeks. Class is in session Monday thru Friday, from 9am to 1pm. The purpose of this bootcamp is to teach you the skills needed to be fully qualified and employable as a Web Developer.
Everyone should learn how to code, it teaches you how to think.

What is a Full-Stack Web Developer?
A full-stack developer is someone who works with all layers in computer software development, as opposed to just being a front-end or back-end developer. Front-end developers focus on the user interface and experience because they’re building an application for the user to interact with. Everything the user sees and connects with has been designed and coded by them. On the other hand, a back-end developer puts an emphasis on programming because they’re primarily dealing with the utility of the application. A back-end developer thinks about how a server will interact with his code in relation to a database. As a combination of the two, a full-stack web developer has a functional knowledge of complete software development. They have the ability to take a concept and turn it into a finished product.
Learn in a university setting
Collaborate on real-world coding projects
Leave JCA with a bright future
Since this class is geared towards beginners, we start with an introduction to web development and help you set up your coding environment. You will engage in both individual and group projects, and take part in workshops set up to help prepare you for real-world coding challenges and future job interviews. You will learn to build data-base driven websites, and we will cover a variety of applications and concepts. Our extensive curriculum includes, but is not limited to:
|JQuery||Intro to Python|
|Git||Model, View, Controller (MVC)|
Bootcamp begins each day at 9am in the University of North Florida’s John A. Delaney student union building. Students are in class from 9am to 1pm. Your instructor will start the day by going over the previous day’s assignments, before introducing new material. Students will work through the new material via assignments, projects, challenges, etc. until the end of class time. In addition to the instructor, Jax Code Teaching Assistants will be there to provide additional, personalized guidance and training. Your instructor and teaching assistants will help you during this “work-shop” time to make sure you are on the right track and feel confident about your work.
After class time students find a place on campus, alone or in groups, to work on projects. Students are expected to continue studying materials provided and work on assigned projects outside of class hours. Jax Code Teaching Assistants will be available to help you via email, phone, and video call. The University of North Florida has numerous places to study, including the Student Union Building, Starbucks, food courts, and outdoor areas with beautiful views of the campus. WIFI is available campus wide so you can move about as you wish.
Following the conclusion of bootcamp, many of our students choose to stay at Jax Code Academy, working under our Internship Program; rather than seeking out immediate employment. This gives our graduates the opportunity to continue developing their skills and start building a résumé.
