A Shortage of Web Developers

  Job prospects for web developers will continue to be favorable through 2024 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. There were 148,500 positions in 2014. This figure should grow by 27% by 2024 to about 188,000 positions.

How much can I expect to earn?

  Starting salaries for web developers nationwide is $70K+. In Jacksonville you can expect the following starting salary approximations:

  • Bootcamp graduates without a technical degree or prior computer experience: $45K – $55K
  • Bootcamp graduates with technical degree and/or IT experience: $55K – $75K

  These results can vary. We’ve had graduates without a degree or experience achieve starting salaries in the $60K+ range. Regardless of which group you fall into, after 2 years working as a web developer you can expect to be in the $90K+ range.

3 + 3 = 6

3 months of bootcamp + 3 month internship = 6 months of training.

  All students are invited to enroll in our 3-month Internship Program after bootcamp. You will be working on websites for real clients, which you can add to your resume, while you continue learning from our instructors and senior web developers.

  Students who excel during bootcamp and/or students who complete our 3 + 3 = 6 track are eligible to apply for teaching assistant positions at Jax Code Academy.

Jax Code Academy will also help you in the following ways:

  • All students will build a portfolio website to showcase their skills and projects from bootcamp.
  • Resume and job search preparation workshops.
  • Jax Code Academy Internships are made available to all graduates. You will be working on websites for real clients, which you can add to your resume, while you continue learning from our instructors and senior web developers.
  • Jax Code Academy works with local technical recruiters, such as Robert Half Technology and Apex Systems, who help you find and apply for jobs which match your skills and interests. Recruiters also visit during bootcamp, answer all your questions about the job market, and invite you to their offices to get you started with job interviews.
  • JCA Teaching Assistant positions are available to select graduates, which greatly increase your web development skills and experience. 
  • Our Do-Over Policy: You can retake any bootcamp 1 time for free. If you do not pass, or you feel the need to take the course again, you can at no charge.
  • Externships and Shadowing: Opportunities are available to work for local companies or shadow a mentor. Available to all graduates.
  • Notification of job openings as we receive them.
  • Bootcamp trains you in multiple programming languages and platforms which make you highly competitive in the local job market.
