How does it work?
You will be given access to a Jax Code Docs account which has course information, Webex connection details, course syllabus, and a personal section to manage your information and tuition balance.

Each day, Monday through Friday, class begins with a live online lecture via Webex. You simple click on the link provided to join your classroom. Webex is an interactive video conferencing platform. It also allows you and your instructors to communicate via video chat, text, or screen sharing for interactive help. All exercises are prerecorded so you can watch whenever you want. You will also be assigned an instructor to interact with via email, text, phone, or Skype. Your Teaching Assistant will make sure your progress does not fall behind and will review your work daily in addition to providing guidance and instruction. Job Prospects After Bootcamp

Shortage of Web Developers
Job prospects for web developers will continue to be favorable through to 2024 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. There were 148,500 positions in 2014. This figure should grow by 27% by 2024 to about 188,000 positions.

How much can I expect to earn?
Starting salaries for web developers nationwide is $70K+. In Jacksonville you can expect the following starting salary approximations:

  • Bootcamp graduates without a technical degree or prior computer experience: $45K - $55K
  • Bootcamp graduates with technical degree and/or IT experience: $55K - $75K
These results can vary. We've had graduates without a degree or experience achieve starting salaries in the $60K+ range.

Regardless of which group you fall into, after 2 years working as a web developer you can expect to be in the $90K+ range.

What percentage of Jax Code Academy graduates get jobs?
Other bootcamps boast high job placement rates which we think are misleading. Some of our graduates don't apply for jobs but choose to start their own business, choose another career path, go to college, take the course to develop websites for their own business, etc. If you want a job as a web developer you have to put in effort, be determined, and you will be successful.

"There are enough jobs for all your students in the Jacksonville area" -- Mike Russo, Vice President Robert Half Technology- IT SEARCH

We will also help you in the following ways:

  • All students will build a portfolio website to showcase their skills and projects from bootcamp.
  • Resume and Job Search preparation workshops.
  • Jax Code Internships available to all graduates. You will be working on real web projects to add to you resume while we keep teaching you.
  • We work with local technical recruiters, like Robert Half Technology and Apex Systems, who help you find a job that matches your interests. Recruiters also visit during bootcamp, answer all your questions about the job market, and invite you to their offices to get you started with job interviews.
  • JCA Teaching Assistant positions available to beef up your experience. Top TA's are offered paid positions.
  • You can repeat bootcamp for free if you feel you need to.
  • Notification of job openings as we get them.
  • Train you in multiple programming languages and platforms to make you more attractive to the needs of the local market.

We cannot guarantee you a job but if you put in the effort with our help, and take advantage of all Jax Code resources, then your odds increase significantly.
